Pedro Xavier Valverde Rivera born in Guayaquil on april 25, 1970. He completed his primary studies at the CLARETIANO ESPÍRITU SANTO DE GUAYAQUIL (Middle School) and his secondary education at COLEGIO JAVIER DE LA COMPAÑÍA DE JESÚS (High School). He went to Law School at the UNIVERSIDAD CATÓLICA DE SANTIAGO DE GUAYAQUIL (University) where he obtaining a degree in Social and Political Science and a degree in Law of the Courts and Tribunals of the Republic in 1993.
In May 1988 he joined the firm he is now part of as a partner and as general manager.
He served as professor at the UNIVERSIDAD CATÓLICA DE SANTIAGO DE GUAYAQUIL (Civil Procedure I, II, III and IV, Contracts I and II, Obligations and Fundamentals of Law), at the UNIVERSIDAD ESPÍRITU SANTO U.E.E.S. (University) (Fundamentals of Law) and at the UNIVERSIDAD CASAGRANDE (University) (Contracts and Right of Information)
He's a legal adviser of the Ecuadorian-American Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil and of the Ecuadorian-Chilean Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil.
He has attended numerous courses and seminars locally and internationally, among them the Graduate Constitutional Law at the University of Salamanca, Spain; Project Management of Policy Change at George Washington University in Washington D.C., U.S.A., some in Concessions and Privatizations, Securitization, Intellectual Property Law, Arbitration and mediation, negotiation at the University of Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., and several about press law issued by the International Press Association IAPA.
He was Executive Director of the Ecuadorian Association of Newspaper Editors A.E.D.E.P. from January 2003 through December 2009. He is currently the Legal Adviser of the A.E.D.E.P.
He is a weekly columnist of Political and Legal Opinion for El Universo Newspaper since January 2006.
